Huntsville, AL – June 30, 2017 – DEFTEC, an Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (“EDWOSB”) established in December 2012, today announces the plan to spin-off its successful enterprise business division into a new entity: DTC-Enterprise, LLC.  DEFTEC will continue to maintain its focus on the Government Solutions.

Barbara Reeder, DEFTEC’s CEO, explains the move, “From inception, DEFTEC has been about supporting innovation with our government customers by providing developmental test and evaluation support, acquisition and life-cycle logistics expertise, training and technical documentation development and delivery in a rapid acquisition environment. Our company was founded on, and is continuously inspired by, the critical missions that save Warfighters’ lives. DEFTEC’s goal is to always support mission readiness by providing up-the-stream solutions to the Warfighters to better enable them to respond to evolving threats.

DEFTEC has enjoyed incredible growth in its first four years of operation starting with an award in 2014 of a 3-year $15M contract with the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO – now JIDO). Since then, the DEFTEC customer list has grown to include other government agencies, Department of Defense Services and high profile global commercial organizations. DEFTEC has a current contract backlog over $60M.”

Ms. Reeder adds, “Although the type of work we currently provide to both our government and commercial customers is largely the same, the requirements of our customers are different enough to warrant the separation. We feel that this move will allow for a greater level of customer service and a more focused and streamlined client acquisition process.”

DTC-Enterprise (DTC-E) will hold all assets and lines of business formerly associated with DEFTEC’s Enterprise Division, including the work done by its subsidiaries, DEFTEC Europe Kft. (DTE) and DEFTEC India Technical Communications Private Limited (DTI).
